I love Ben Kincaid as a character. His kindness, seen as flaw, is truly remarkable to witness.
Unfortunately, there were many points throughout the story that I had to suspend my disbelief a little too hard. Ben never fit in at any crime scene with Mike. Perhaps a separate POV of Mike's introspective would have been better, but I could just not believe Ben being at a crime scene. I know these scene were purely meant for info dump on the audience. 
Regardless, I may pick up the next book because I love Ben Kincaid as a character and would love to see more of him.
