While the plot may feel familiar, the characters and pacing of this book kept me hooked from start to finish. The world-building strikes a perfect balance, giving just enough detail to immerse you in the setting and characters without bogging you down. It’s a slow burn, so expect plenty of simmering tension. And for those who enjoy a little heat—or prefer to avoid it—there are two key scenes in chapters 32 and 34 that deliver exactly what you’re looking for.
