I will say, the humor and "charm" Himoru uses doesn't always click with me.

I went into this expecting the "forbidden" summer romance between Fahad and Ali to be more central to the story than it actually was. This unexpected shift altered my perception, but I still tried to appreciate the story for what it truly is. Other Names for Love explores themes of masculinity, inheritance, the impact of one's actions on others, and most significantly, suppressed desire.

Fahad is called back to a place he thought he had forgotten to handle the remnants of what was once his inheritance. Throughout it all, he can only think about Ali, the boy who awakened his desire, and the memories of when he was last there. The events of that summer caused Fahad to suppress the memories of his desire and forgo his inheritance, which is now what’s called him back.

This "love story" wasn't really believable to me. I'm so over the insta-love trope. I never want to read a story with one again.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 23%.
I do not like Olivie's writing. Like, not at all.
