This is an extremely dense book that I feel I've only scratched the surface of and I could see myself rereading this in the future. While this is true reading this book wasn't the most enjoyable experience. While I felt that the sections dedicated to 'The Navidson Record" were some of the most unsettling, experimental, and engrossing pieces of literature I have read, the sections centering Johnny Truant I found excruciating to read and did not care for at all (except for a few moments) and reminded me of books such as Choke and American Psycho which I hated. In short House of Leaves is at some points thrilling and disturbing but also frustrating, boring, and painful at others.

Maybe one of the best endings in fiction ever?? was scared this would not live up to the original but it was the perfect epilogue for the masterpiece that is the first novel.
