Good prosey writing. Plus Australian YA fiction, YES! Some of the best stuff there is. The story was slow-moving, but I liked it, really. It was interesting, although the characters stayed a bit flat.
Twas crazy. It was also way different than I thought it was going to be, but in a good way... some of the concepts in the book had potential to be cheesy, but they weren't. The characters were realistic, and the plot twists, while few, were very effective.
I find it funny that I call the characters realistic when really, most of them aren't to be believed. =) oh, but some of the relationships were a little weird... like the Abe-Emma-Jacob thing, I found odd. But oh well. I apologize for spoilers.

Major mindblow at the end, but still, I'm glad to be done. It frustrates me to read the same book for too long, and I guess I felt it had been too long with this one.
Quite an awesome book, though. Only Stephen King could write a science-fiction/fantasy-based western and tie in Harry Potter AND make a cameo. IT'S LIKE THE CENTER OF A FICTIONAL WEB OF AWESOME FICTION. Very good indeed.
