I enjoyed the author’s stories on how each Flamboyant impacted or is reflected in their own life and writings, etc.
I would’ve liked more history and stories about each person, though.
The illustrations and artwork throughout are GORGEOUS!! Vibrant, colorful, and how we might imagine each Flamboyant on stage or out in Harlem at the time!
My Favorite was the Zora Neale Hurston bio/chapter/story.
The book did introduce me to several prominent figures from the Harlem Renaissance I didn’t previously know, and this is very much appreciated!
Also, great to have the recommendations for further reading at the end of the book…always to learn more and spread the word about these amazing queer voices and people!

This book and its art are absolutely hilarious!!
I laughed out loud at every single story/bird narrative and the art-drawings throughout!
Just a quick, fun, entertaining book!!
You’ll want to share the stories with everyone…and read them aloud—even better!!!

A great horror novella, with a nice small-town mystery, and unknown (possible) serial killer, several interesting characters, a little fright and lots of suspense.

The writing was excellent—descriptive, succinct, and humorous when needed!
Great tension built throughout and I enjoyed the characters in the story—my favorite being  Olivia….and Chrome!!

I appreciated the ARC copy and purchased two other reads by D.C. Phillips.
