Did not finish book. Stopped at 20%.
There is not one redeemable quality to Roach - she's just a c*w who is obsessive about people and hates them when they don't like her. I hated how she referred everyone as "normies" and talked negatively about everything.
Laura was just stuck up and stand-offish

Elijah goes missing whilst on a camping trip with his family. The National Guard and volunteers go into the forrest to search for him but rather than head North they go West.
His father, Samuel, alongside his uncle, cousin, and brother defy local authorities and federal agents to follow his tracks into the untamed Appalachians. They are prepared or are they?

This is one of those novels, that although short (156 pages), packs one hell of a punch! It's not necessarily edge of your seat scary but it's unsettling, and throughout I had a shiver down my spine (a sign of a good book).

I can only imagine Sam's heartache and grief of searching for his 6 year old child alone in the wild.

There's something lurking in the Great Smokies and it's watching and tracking them, just as they're tracking Elijah.

This is a must read of lovers of folk horror or horror in general - you won't regret it.
