Maybe Iโm not a cozy reads personaโฆ however that is what this isโฆ a cozy fantasy gem that ditches the usual high-stakes battles for something way more delightful: a coffee shop! Viv, an orc tired of the adventuring life, decides to open the first-ever cafรฉ in a sleepy town, but it turns out that starting a business is its own kind of quest. With charming characters, a sprinkle of magic, and a focus on friendship, this book is like a warm hug in novel form. Itโs a low-stress read that serves up comfort and charm with every page, making it perfect for when you need a break from all the epic sagas.

The story gets darker, the stakes get higher, but once again, I was left craving more of that deep, villainous content. However, the wild plot twists and intense sibling dynamics keep things gripping. The quirky style and bizarre humor are back in full force, making this volume another unpredictable ride.

The Umbrella Academy, Volume 1: Apocalypse Suite kicks off with a bang, introducing us to a misfit family of super-powered siblings trying to navigate their chaotic lives. While the quirky art and offbeat storytelling are a blast, the plot didnโt quite hit the villain vibes I was hoping for. Sure, thereโs a lot of drama, some wild action scenes, and plenty of dark humor, but I wanted more of that villainous edge. That said, the book sets the stage for a wild ride with some seriously flawed characters you canโt help but root forโฆeven when theyโre kind of a mess.

While Danny transness is a highlight of the story. What I really like was how the book explores Danny's newfound abilities. The way she accesses and views her powers is describes how she accesses it is incredible. Iโve not read a superhero book that went beyond, oh Iโm just really strong.

Ever picked up a book just because the cover was irresistible? Thatโs how I ended up with โAces Wildโ by Amanda DeWitt. It wasnโt what I expected and I donโt know why?!? Clearly it was a Las Vegas/Gambling heistโฆbut I didnโt expect that. I think this book is a gem in the way it highlights romance through asexual eyes, but spoiler alert: itโs not a story about romance. Instead, we get a thrilling heist adventure! As someone who isnโt usually into heist stories, I was did enjoy the unique perspective and the refreshing take on relationships and friendships. If youโre in the mood for a captivating read that breaks the mold, give this one a shot.
