I loved this book - its my favorite in this series so far though I do look forward to the next book. Unlike the first book, I felt very satisfied with the pacing of both the main plot and the romantic plot and felt very happy at the end. However, in the first book's defense, all three books in this series cover the same core plot during the same period of time.
The difference is that each book is written from the point of view of each different main character. One might think it would be boring to rehash what you've already read in the previous books, but I found that it's worked out well so far since each character carries their own secret knowledge and spends time away from each other so that the audience gets to see all aspects of the core plotline come together over the course of the entire series.
I'll see if the last book in this series impresses me as much as this one did.

I adored it!!! My only complaint is that I went through it so quickly and now it's done, haha. I loved the world building and the characters, and the romantic aspects had me so fluttery!

Oh, I really like that we get this character's perspective on aspects of the first book in this series. I was very frustrated with her but now I understand her motives better and can appreciate her a lot more than I could before. Also now I feel the urge to reread the Cruel Prince for the third time with these bits of new information while I wait on the library hold list for the Wicked King.
