Hani and Ishu's Guide to Fake Dating by Adiba Jaigirdar

This book started off a bit weak, but Ms. Jaigirdar managed to find her footing as soon as she got past the setup for the fake-dating plot. This was a really cute and easy read! Hani and Ishu are both extremely well-developed characters, and their chemistry was just *chef's kiss* so good.  I always love the Bengali rep in Ms. Jaigirdar's work, I felt so thrilled being able to translate all the Bangla conversations in this book <3

I loved this story, I am literally always thinking about this. I love the idea of aliens as much as the next person and I will never not be excited by humanity's quest to find life beyond our planet, but at the same time, the amount of resources that goes into this endeavor is insane to me. The way we will pour billions into trying to confirm even the smallest possibilty of extraterrestrial life while neglecting or/and harming the life that already exists on our planet, whether it be marginalized communities or species nearing extinction, is so devastating to me. Wish we could learn to recognize and appreciate the beauty in the life around us.
