Solid and quick paced 1st book for this series. The potential for this series to delve in any territory it wishes is very exciting to read. This book made me most interested because of a protagonist who falls into the category of grey shaded and doesn't hesitate in doing what's necessary for his survival. The brilliance of the character is he handles everything using his wits and the skills he has gotten due to his reincarnation into this world. An interesting world setup in 2 folds which is being unveiled slowly.

Being a Jojo fan, wanted to pick and read about the mind behind the famous manga and his expertise in the field of making a manga. This is one of my best non-fictional reads of the year and it sits at the same level as Stephen King's book on writing. Observing the process of manga creation and the steps to succeed in creating good manga is pure fun and worth reading.

This book was an excruciating read with good prose to keep it going. Eleanor now falls under the character list of Mina Harker of Dracula who genuinely are written to annoy the readers to death. My first horror read for Halloween was disappointing to be honest.

This is a solid feel-good book recommended to me by my best friend. There were parts that could still be shortened with some tropes of misunderstandings in the latter part of the book. The 2 main characters which made me interested to go on with this novel were Marcellus and Tova. The plot was brilliantly threaded to assemble into a good climax.

I did start to read this book, I felt this was a trilogy but there seem to be 2 more books planned. Completing this book at such a quick pace for an 800+ page novel says a lot about how well-paced, adventurous, brilliant plot line and excellent character work of all perspectives present in this novel. Defiant is the best of the 3 books in this series and I am very much excited for the next novels of this series.

Brilliant start to a darker age and brutal retelling of Arthurian tales. The book starts out slow with its characters but picks up close to 1/4th into the book and doesn't let go of the steam and pacing. The atmosphere of 5th to 6th century Britain is portrayed in a grim picture. The characters are the most important draw for this series. Must read for anyone wanting to pick up a historical fiction with fantasy elements mixed in very less amounts.

The sequel to Ascendant is much more solid and well-developed in the characters, plot and pacing. Adding another perspective of a character, I felt at the start to be unnecessary turned out to be the most well-added perspective to this story. The character developments and the story progression had a beautiful blend of quick pace and slower movements to settle in the story being told and relishing the moments of the characters and their developments.

The world's expansion and many interesting perspectives added to this web serial make it much more fascinating, and interesting and leave lots of mysteries. Even after completing 2 volumes, I genuinely don't like Erin much and have issues with Ryoka as well but do understand their thought process and workings. Out of all the books this year, I usually have liked the protagonist to love the book, but this book the world, the mechanisms behind the main characters is what keeps me very interested. The supporting cast and the mysteries existing in this world make me very interested in delving in deeper.

Project Hail Mary was always in my radar due to the movie Martian and for its recommendation by Barack Obama as well. This is the type of sci-fi that suits my taste with human drama and interesting characters. The story does start out slow and with my grim-dark taste in books, humans all working together kinda annoyed me in the start. But the story does suck you in the situation with an interesting narrative style which melds together brilliantly. We have one of the best character written who joins in story, which just pushes this story to another level. Must read book for anyone interested in getting into sci-fi.
