I absolutely love Cat and Bones!
Every time I read this series I can’t help but fall in love with it a little bit more.

Tongue's Target by K.L. Savage

That cliffhanger though...
Ever since the beginning of this series I always had a soft spot for Tongue, I’ve cried for him and with him. I’ve also laughed at him, with him and because of him.
Tongue is a killer who like to stay in the shadows to the point where people forget he’s even there, he loves fiercely and has a sick fascination with tongues, especially if they are out of a person mouth.
Daphne is his perfect match, she’s the bookworm that’s a little insane with a whole lot of love to give.
These two have a completely unhealthy relationship and yet some how, makes it healthy for these two characters.
They break my heart with their stories and then glue it back together when they heal each other.
Let’s also talk about that cliffhanger, I wish it didn’t exist and the book didn’t end. That’s all I can say about that.
Can we all just take a moment to praise this author as well.

Kings of Mayhem by Penny Dee
3.0
2.5 to 3 star rating
Penny Dee is a new to me author and I’ve heard a lot of great things about this authors book but I don’t think this book did her any justice.
My rating is 2.5 to 3 stars, I couldn’t decide one or the other and here’s why. I enjoyed the writing and there was so much potential but those flashbacks… I have read other books that used flashbacks to which I enjoyed and they were relevant to the story but I feel like some of the flashbacks in this book were unnecessary. They didn’t really contribute to the story as a whole, it just felt like it was thrown in there as a filler.
Now the characters, Indy and Cade. They are childhood best friends turned first loves and first heartbreak. They are each other’s ‘the one you can’t get over’.
Cade annoyed me a little, I was hoping he would be an alpha male, bossy and maybe a little bit darker but he was like a fluffy little bunny. I didn’t really care much for him but I did like how he had his moments, like chasing Indy to Seattle, going crazy from your first heartbreak and being there for the people he cares about. That’s all he really had going.
Indy annoyed me a whole lot, I was hoping for a strong woman and what I got was a weepy female that was in a permanent state of pmsing. I didn’t feel the connection between these two characters, at all… I feel like her journey throughout this whole book was to come to terms with the relationship she had with her father, his death and the passing his her brother. Those scenes were beautifully written to the point where I felt the emotions that I imagine Indy was going through. I just can’t praise these scenes enough.
The ending was a cliffhanger but I feel it was rushed and just bam, came out of nowhere.
This book is supposed to be an MC romance but I feel like it was more focused on the romance side with a bit of MC splashed here and there.
I’ll probably give Cade and Indy’s second book a miss and go straight onto the third book in this series before I make up my mind on this author.

Don't Kiss the Bride by Carian Cole

Yes, yes, yes!
I absolutely adored this book. The characters, plot and writing was just beautiful. Don’t get me wrong, some times Skyler did annoy me at time but then I remember she is only 18 so some of her behaviour is to be expected. Jude also annoyed me at times with him having such an issue with the age difference and even testing Skyler like crap at times but the ending made up for it all. I just love how they are always trying to make each others lives easier, even if it makes their own seperate lives difficult. I’m in love with their love!
This book is a relatively quick read and if you are looking for something refreshing, then this is the book for you!
4.5 Star rating from me.
Go read it, right now.

Capturing Cree by Nicola Jane
4.0
This was an enjoyable read.
Eva is a hopeless romantic at heart and is waiting to meet her Prince Charming.
Cree is the VP who doesn’t quite know how to talk to the woman he likes, he’s broody, bossy and has to attend to court mandated therapy sessions for his anger.
Eva and Cree’s relationship is borderline toxic and unhealthy at times but it all makes sense when you get to understand Cree’s background.
Eva is naive to the point where I just wish I could slap some sense into the girl. There were also times where I just wanted to give her hug for the way she was being treated and congratulate her for being a strong independent woman.
There was also times when I just wanted to slap Cree for being an asshole. My heart also broke from him and his backstory, I also loved that he was getting help for his mental health and emotional issues even though it was court ordered.
I really wished more for Cree and Eva’s story but I’m still happy with how their it unfolded. Although, I do feel that towards the end of this book their story was a little rushed.
Yes, I would recommend this book.
P.s. Although it says it can be read as a standalone, I do recommend you start at the beginning of the series to appreciate the world the author is building and to get more of a backstory on other characters that play a major role in this book.

The Experiment by Amy Alves
5.0
I absolutely ADORED this book!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed this book so much. The characters are amazing, the storyline is awesome and the writing just flowed beautifully.
Emma is awesome! I love how socially awkward, clumsy and quirky she is. She had me laughing all throughout this book.
Jess is the complete opposite, he’s confident, sociable and amused by all of her quirks.
The experiment is book one of the Landry Love series by Amy Alves and can I just say, she smashed it out of the park with this book!
If you are looking for a small town romance that will have you laughing, crying and romantically sighing? Then this is the book for you!
I loved this book so much so, that I’m about to just binge read this whole series.
I can’t recommend this book enough!
And this final line just made my heart melt.
‘Our experiment may have failed, but the aftermath was worth sticking around for.’ Amy Alves, Jess.
