The Shadows We Keep by Cindy Dawson

First of all, I'm so mad at myself for taking this long to read this.

This book was so damn good, I was hooked from page one. There wasn't a single dull moment. No info dumping or unnecessary filler mambo jumbo. The spice was absolutely delectable, so much so Harkin was manifesting in my damn dreams!!

I absolutely loved the dynamic between Keira and Harkin. Love the spin on the FMC being the stalker in this scenario, and then the hunter becoming the hunted. Once Harkin got a glimpse of our girl Keira nothing else mattered. They are the definition of Bonnie and Clyde, Keira is no fragile doll. Our girl can and does hold her own. This is touch him or her and die vibes cause just as much as Harkin will get down for our girl and always find her, she will protect what's hers too.

I cannot wait till book two comes out and I get to dive back into their world.

When I die please reincarnate me into this book cause I'm in love.

This is my first Elle Mitchell novel and I am in love. Although this is a high school bully romance, it doesn't feel too YA. It was a highly enjoyable and relatable read. Punk 57 but add alot of trauma and a lil mystery. The spice was absolutely delicious and I loved the dynamic between Ally and Devon. Ally was going thru it and didn't have anyone in her corner like that, no one she could really turn to about everything that was going on. Devon was everything for her. From lovers to enemies to lovers again. The hate phase hurt so much but it was so raw and you could just tell that thru all the pain Devon absolutely loves Ally.

I can't get enough of Wes and Layne. Oh how I wish I was Layne locked away in a snowy cabin with Wes by my side. Chasing me around, tying me up, and enjoying his dessert

"The fabric of our souls is thin and worn. We must be gentle and love tirelessly"

Thank you for the opportunity to experience this masterpiece.

This book was everything I expected and so much more. Absolutely beautiful and top 3 fav books this year hands down.

These next few words don't do it justice to all the feelings this book invoked in me. It spoke to me on so many levels, deep down to my dark and twisty soul, and I found the characters so relatable. I feel so connected to Wynn, Liam and Lanston. I've had this dark cloud looming over me since I was 13 (trauma will do that to ya) and just reading their emotions and thought process had me like "yup, exactly".

I am also someone who copes with dark humor. Ive lost both my parents and my brother and I also joke around now how were just two lil orphan children. The humor in this book was perfect for me. It's exactly how id joke and laugh about the pain I'm going thru.

I can't recommend this book enough. It was so beautifully written, my heart will take a while to heal after everything that happened but it was so worth the tears. I love this book.
