Enjoyable read. I didn’t love it, but it’s a solid book. I wasn’t dying to finish it but I also didn’t want to stop DNF it at all. I wish I’d reread Kingdom of the Wicked before diving in, I think that might’ve helped tremendously - many allusions were made to previous events I couldn’t recall fully.

I suspect the third one will explain some of my questions about the characters… but Evangeline falls a little flat for me.

Quick easy read, intriguing plot lines and well written. I felt like the initial bargain’s premise was a bit juvenile (which I suppose makes sense since it’s in YA), but also totally outlandish for a 17 year old? I wish authors would age characters like Evangeline up.
