This is seriously turning into my favorite by this author thus far ... although Devourer of Men is really, really high up there! 🫡
Wow! I can not say too much since this is the 3rd book in this series ... but wow! I still can not get enough on how Nikki has been able to rope me in with this storyline ... and the plot just keeps thickening!
Super excited to read the next book ...

Although I liked this conclusion, I just did not love it as I did book 1 and 2. *it did take me a while to get into it and also some time to finish it.
I just adored Wrath and Emilia 🤌🏽 they were just the best to read throughout this series.
The twists and turns with the revelations were enjoyable to read, especially since I did not see them coming.
I wanted more based on the questions that I had, but I understand that there are some spinoffs to this series, so I understand, BUT I wanted more on those.
I do think I will dabble in the spinoff series, only because I did love the idea of the Deadly Sin Demons 🫠

I listened to the audio while following along in my physical copy ...
*About the audio, I have to say that in my head, that was not what Aiden sounded like 🤷🏽♀️
I have to say that I was surprised on this one ... i had read a book before by this author, and i just was not a fan.
This one? This one was everything I was hoping for another recent romance I read this one had ... this book sucked me in with a relatable story. I was hooked!
I fell in love with not only the MCs but the side characters.
The way this was not only about love but also had the cool elements of a love hotline/podcast to it 🤌🏽
Excited to read the next book ...

I listened to the audio while following along in the ebook ...
I have to say that I was disappointed ...
I am in no way saying that this series was my favorite, but book 1 and 2 read so well ... it flowed so easily that even just listening to some of the audio, I was able to follow along.
However, this book just lost me at 50%. There were way too many things happening at the same time ... I feel like it was a rushed book trying to cram a lot of plot into a short period. *Not my jam!
I am glad that in the end, there was a happy ending for the MCs, but to be completely honest, I did not even know how we got to it.
I have to say I am just glad that I was able to finish the series, even if I could have dnf'd this last book at that 50%.

I did not know I needed to read a cowboy romance!
To be my first one, I did not know what to expect, but was taken aback by the story of Lincoln and Josie.
I really loved the way the author created the suspense of what would happen next, especially in the subplot. I was hooked!
I am definitely intrigued and only hope to be able to read book 2 as well.

I really enjoyed this ... had me hooked from the first page!
I was not sure what to expect, but sure was happy that the author was able to keep me wanting to read one more chapter before having to put it down.
I loved the growth of the FMC! She really saw what it took to be respected by respecting herself first.
I did love the hidden message of making sure you know who you surround yourself with, because it determines how much you are evolving in life.
I love that by the end, they were a great amount of characters that grew and some that just showed their true colors.
Definitely recommend!

I think this was a great conclusion to this series ... although, I am so sad to see it come to an end 🥹
I still felt the same way I did about Gideon and Rune. Kristen delivered on mirroring the banter from book 1 that I loved so much! *most authors lose that touch [connection] with the characters, and it shows sometimes in the writing. This is not the case for this duology.
I read some of the other comments and just do not see how Rune was not the same badass through and through. The reasoning behind this relapse is very important to note as to the events that caused it. *I am glad that I was able to take that into account while reading.
I am glad that Gideon stepped up a lot in this ... because that ending was everything.
I am left with only a question, but I will leave it up to my own interpretation off of this review.
Definitely would love to reread this duology so that I can physically put my annotations in my physical copies 🥹

I listened to the audio while following along in my physical copy ...
When this book was advertised, it was emphasized as "super spicy" ... "look it even has BDSM!"
Just no!
If you were clutching your pearls at this because you thought it was spicy, I would hate to know what you think of actual spice!
I listened to a YT'ber the day I finished this, talking about how they DNF'd because it was too spicy ... MA'AM! Were we reading the same book?
I was so disappointed, and still finished the book ... ONLY because taking away the way it was advertised, Lukas and Scarlett were okay. Some of the plot was still decent to follow.
I did love the therapist and Mei more than anything ... I love when things like this [the therapist] are normalized ... asking for help is okay.
I think at this point, I am done with this author. If you love her, you are still my friend. For me, I just do not fully connect to her characters/romance approach.
