Being able to write a comic book essay is not easy, especially if you want to be taken seriously, yet this author has succeeded and the book is really interesting and at the same time very enjoyable to read.

Riuscire a scrivere un saggio a fumetti non é facile, soprattutto se si vuole essere presi sul serio, eppure questo autore c'é riuscito ed il libro é veramente interessante ed al tempo stesso molto piacevole da leggere.

 The fact that a sad story has an ending that leaves a lot of hope leads me to say that this is one of the best books I have read recently, without the pretense that it has to end badly to be taken seriously. I liked the characters, with all their facets even if they were somewhat similar to each other, with a few exceptions. The narration was quite fast-paced even when nothing much was happening and the author managed to convey, at least to me, a lot of different feelings at the same time.

Il fatto che una storia triste, abbia un finale che lascia parecchie speranze, mi porta ad affermare che questo sia uno dei migliori libri che ho letto di recente, uno senza la pretesa di dover per forza finire malissimo per essere preso sul serio. I personaggi mi sono piaciuti, con tutte le loro sfaccettature anche se in qualche modo si assomigliavano tanto tra di loro, con qualche eccezione. La narrazione era piuttosto veloce anche quandpo non succedeva niente di particolare e l'autrice é riuscita a veicolare, almeno a me, un sacco di sentimenti diversi nello stesso tempo.

 Evidently filling the book with sex to make up for the lack of a plot still works, but this story is really little, perhaps because it is the first in a new series....and that's as far as Kathee Roberts is concerned.
The second novel is poorly written, chaotic, and moreover would really need some good editing to salvage what can be saved. I did not like it at all.

Evidentemente riempire il libro di sesso per supplire alla mancanza di una trama funziona ancora, peró questa storia é veramente poca cosa, magari perché é il primo di una nuova serie....e questo per quanto riguarda Kathee Roberts.
Il secondo romanzo é scritto male, caotico, e oltretutto avrebbe bisogno veramente di un buon editing per salvare il salvabile. Non mi é piaciuto affatto.

 It is very likely that if I were Japanese, these little slice of daily life, i.e. these 34 short stories completely detached from each other in which you sometimes struggle to understand who is speaking or who the main character is, I would have liked them more. I say this because it is likely that an inner eye is able to appreciate these visions of a world that is not my own more than I do. I still remain fascinated by this kind of storytelling even though I am not sure I would recommend it to everyone or choose to read any other book by this writer, partly because I was probably expecting something different.

È molto probabile che se fossi giapponese, questi piccoli spaccati di vita quotidiana, i.e. queste 34 brevi storie completamente staccate tra di loro in cui a volte si fatica a capire chi parli o chi sia il personaggio principale, mi sarebbero piaciute di piú. Dico questo perché é probabile che un occhio interno sia in grado di apprezzare piú di me queste visioni di un mondo che non é il mio. Resto comunque affascinata da questo tipo di narrazione anche se non sono sicura che lo consiglierei a tutti né che sceglierei di leggere qualche altro libro di questa scrittrice, anche perché probabilmente mi aspettavo qualcosa di diverso. 

Brucia l'origine by Daniele Mencarelli

 Per quanto non é che sia proprio un romanzo innovativo e la trama é nota, la cosa che piú di tutte mi aspettavo che succedesse non é accaduta e quindi questo bisogna ammetterlo. Di lunga non il miglior Mencarelli anche se la Roma che emerge é proprio quella vera, purtroppo.

 Finally and for the 60th issue, we are back to reading about the lives of the main protagonists. This is the turn of Sommerset and the Urban Wars. As is often the case, the story this time is more biographical than an actual “detective story,” in that Eve is immediately able to identify the culprit, but he must be found.

Finalmente e per il sessantesimo numero, si torna a leggere della vita dei protagonisti principali. Questa é la volta di Sommerset e delle Urban War. Come spesso accade, la storia stavolta é piú biografica che un "giallo" vero e proprio, in quanto Eve é immediatamente in grado di identificare il colpevole, ma bisogna trovarlo. 

Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales by Heather Fawcett

 I was looking forward to this finale of the Emily Wilde trilogy, which was one of the best in recent years in my opinion. Unfortunately, however, I was disappointed. The first part of the book really dragged and I could hardly continue, then fortunately it kicked off and was saved by the skin of its teeth, but compared to the first two books, this third volume is really poor in both adventure and plot in general. If this is the way the author intends to continue, it is a relief that this is the last volume. Too bad really, Wendell and Emily were a really good couple. Maybe I'll just reread the first two volumes when I feel like it.

Apettavo con ansia questo finale della trilogia di emily Wilde, che é stata una delle migliori degli ultimi anni secondo me. Purtroppo peró sono rimasta delusa. La prima parte del libro si é proprio trascinata e non riuscivo quasi a continuare, poi fortunatamente ha preso il via e si é salvata per il rotto della cuffia, ma paragonato ai primi due libri, questo terzo volume é veramente povero sia di avventura che di trama in generale. Se questo é il modo in cui l'autrice intende proseguire é un sollievo che questo sia l'ultimo volume. Peccato davvero, Wendell ed Emily sono stati veramente una bella coppia. Magari mi rileggo solo i primi due volumi quando ne ho voglia.

 Not bad, especially because Bas is nice and intense as a male character, without trespassing on the alpha male, which is a pleasant novelty. The subplot is also particularly fascinating, and all together it completes a multifaceted contemporary romance, plus books.....

Non male, soprattutto perché Bas é bello intenso come personaggio maschile, senza per questo sconfinare nel maschio alfa, il che é una piacevole novitá. La sottotrama é anche particolarmente affascinante e tutto assieme completa un contemporary romance dalle molte sfaccettature ed in piú ci sono i libri....

 Perfect manual for what I need, because in my role as a psychologist/psychotherapist I do not prescribe medication, but deal with people who take a lot of it. Clear, with short, to-the-point clinical examples and a series of bulleted lists that make my day.

Manuale perfetto per quello che serve a me, che nel mio ruolo di psicologa/psicoterapeuta non somministro farmaci, ma che ho a che fare con persone che ne prendono tanti. Chiaro, con degli esempi clinici brevi e puntuali ed una serie di elenchi puntati che fanno la mia felicitá.
