I don’t know. It’s a simple trope of “I’m bad/you’re good we would never work but maybe we would let’s spend the book figuring it out.”

A cross between religious guilt and normal people just living their lives. Sex club v the Church. Dad v Son. Bf v Gf. Everyone is fighting all the time.

I do think Sage gets a raw deal most of the time though. I do feel bad for her.

I found this pretty boring. And I’m regretting adding this to teach second semester after such rave reviews. I think I should have stuck with Drown or Garcia Girls for the themes of home and family.

The best part of this book was the introduction. That part was really interesting.

This was the true story of a man who decided to be an emt, then medic, then burned out.

I liked that he told his story in short chapters both with humor and seriousness.

As a part of this community it was a very true account not sugar coated at all and reminds me of many people I know and the places near where I live.

This is a good start but could easily be a nice novel.

It’s kinda like Final Destination but with a more visualized Death character.

I read it in like 30 min so there’s that.

I loved this one.

Kara gets divorced and goes to help her uncle at his museum of wonders. He’s gets all this weird stuff.

She’s starts to catalogue everything but stuff starts happening and then there’s a hole in the wall and stuff gets really wild.

Loved the speed of the story, the world created, and the characters.

I loved this. It was twisty and turny and you can’t trust the narrator nor anyone else.

The basic story is of a thrill seeking group looking for new thrills. A group of 4 girls go looking for an underground lake, “the sublime.” Their journey makes up the majority of the book.

There is a story shift between the end and the beginning which I really like as well.

I’m just so tired of this universe.

And I’m starting to hate these 4 characters, the way they talk, pushing stuff inside of Lav, all of it.

I am stopping here because the Princes are next and they just love pregnancy and that is not my thing.

I do like how quickly things started wrapping up in this. I feel like these books start well and end well but the middle just drags and gets repetitive.

Firstly, the dogs don’t die but they do get a bit roughed up.

This is the sequel to Exorcists House. Follows the family to their next steps with the old farmhouse and vanquishing evil. Daniel’s brother Adam makes an appearance as does “the spider.” I liked the POV shifts between the family and Merle, past and present.

10/10 epilogue though.

Really liked this one, specifically this edition. I intend to use it in place of our memoir unit or as a pre cursor to it to get to know the students at the beginning of the year.

The chapters are short and can be read in any order so I paired some due to topics and some to themes.

The authors are decent writers. It’s a generally good story. I liked the Lords. I feel like I can’t like the Dukes. They are just so awful.

And then you think there’s a little redemption and they piss all over that too.

All of the characters need therapy and to be permanently separated from each other because they are just awful.

And I’m tired of how beaten down Vinny is. I expected more from her.

But the freaking ending is the reason I’ll see this one through to the next book
