Paige has really grown into her own and her impulsive side has become a measured asset. Many scenes I could feel the desperation and overwhelming grief.
when she found Arcturus in the coffin, knowing he had been (likely) buried alive was such a heartbreaking chapter. Samantha Shannon continues to show me why she is my favorite author.

This book was much better after I read a few interviews with the author. I went into this book thinking I would be reading about a race and that didn't even start until over half way through the book.
I have issues with the ending, not necessarily becauseMikheil dying, or the kids being put in an orphanage but because Louise ended up the woman who adopted them. Seriously this woman who bungled up the entire book and probably got these poor children's parents killed is now their adopted mother?! Oooo makes my blood boil.
