A strong novel for a 5th book in a series.

Paige has really grown into her own and her impulsive side has become a measured asset. Many scenes I could feel the desperation and overwhelming grief.

when she found Arcturus in the coffin, knowing he had been (likely) buried alive was such a heartbreaking chapter.

Samantha Shannon continues to show me why she is my favorite author.

How did we start a book 3 with so many questions and end book 3 with more questions and hardly any answers for the questions leading into this installment?

I don't understand how so much happened but felt we had the same conversation every single chapter.

This book was much better after I read a few interviews with the author. I went into this book thinking I would be reading about a race and that didn't even start until over half way through the book.

I have issues with the ending, not necessarily because

Mikheil dying, or the kids being put in an orphanage but because Louise ended up the woman who adopted them. Seriously this woman who bungled up the entire book and probably got these poor children's parents killed is now their adopted mother?! Oooo makes my blood boil.
