Did a good job at getting the characters fears across the page. The twist at the end however was predictable, but not bad. When it was said that Maggie is hunting for a baby and would kill anyone in her way. You start to question why is she stalking Beth and not Alice. The realize Beth must be pregnant. I wish the sacrifice/orgy scene had more explanation. It felt like a funny moment but it never explained why an orgy was a part of the sacrifice.
The book is pretty good. There are a few weird lines here and there and Adam Morgan is absurdly annoying. But you are invested in what is going on and what the outcome will be. However the ending took the worst possible route. Instead of playing out the murder mystery and revealing what was actually going on with Kelly's past life and who the mystery 3rd person is. It instead jumps over the trail to Adam's execution and reveals it was alls Sarah's doing. The second I realized what was actually happening I got annoyed and would've stopped reading if I wasn't so close to the end.
i just don't think i know mythology enough to really understand the book. it's long and dragging and is written for people who already know about mythology and the people in it.
DNF Got this book for free on my kindle and only read 30% of it. The enemies to lovers sucks and I just don't care about the characters. Eli and Violet are childhood enemies and are now back in each others lives at age 30, and need to grow up! Jesus Christ they bicker and hate each other for the smallest most annoying things. Plus the writing isn't the best and I'm often confused by the authors lack of explanation for some things.
