A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir

This series just gets better and better with each book I read and is quickly becoming one of the best series I've ever read. The world is crafted so beautifully and the lore is so deep and rich, as well as the plot just being so incredibly captivating.

generally a fun time. a bit slow in some parts though and quite dense/boring at moments. however, the lore is so rich and impressive !

I'm honestly realizing I like YA thrillers more than adult ones!! the twist was definitely original in this book and I also felt smart for figuring it out. felt like a nostalgic teen movie in a good way. definitely recommend if you want a fun lil whodunnit teen drama!! interested in reading the rest of the series for sure! (edit: I watched season 1 of the show and it's lowkey completely different besides the basic premise, so just keep that in mind lol)

definitely one of those ones you a little bit have to turn most of your brain off to read, but honestly sometimes that's what you need for a holiday romance. in terms of slight rubs... the relationship between them feels like it goes from 0 to 100 very quickly (at least in our FMC's eyes), and it was a little quick for me! the end was cute (though extremely predictable! which is fine for a holiday romance) but I was a little thrown off by the fact that she got over the everything so quickly. all in all, I just feel like some of that emotional stuff was lost a little throughout the book. and yes, I know it was short, but there were other things/details that could have been removed or expanded upon! it was cute for what it was, but as I say with most books under 200 pages... it left me wanting a bit more! I definitely didn't hate it, but also probably wouldn't read it again.
Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown
funny enough, true to the themes of this book, this is absolutely the only "self-help" book you need. I know I will come back to this again and again and again throughout my life. 100000% recommend if you want to live an intentional and simplified life.
