This novella from Adams pov was no where near as good as the one from Warners pov, but I might just be biased. I loved Adam in the first book but I think he’s a little too boring for me now, not crazy enough

AHHHHHHHHH I didn’t think this book could be better than the first but WOW. Not only is the plot of this series gut wrenching but the characters?? *chefs kiss* immaculate. Juliette’s character development is everything to me, and Warner is a work of art. I’m living for the whole “I’m the villain but I know her better and deserve her more than you do” trope. And Chapter 62… LAWDDDD Adam could never sorry not sorry

“All I know is that it’ll never be safe for me to rely on someone else again, to need constant reassurance of who I am and who I might be someday. I can love him, but I can’t depend on him to be my backbone. I can’t be my own person if I constantly require someone else to hold me together.”

I-

Warner just does something to me oh my god I read this in one sitting, could NOT stop reading. I knew after the first book there was something deeper to him and that he wasn’t the villain he was painted to be. I cant wait to see where this series takes his character

suffering unimaginable pain knowing Aaron Warner is not a real person and he can’t order me to take my clothes off then carry me into a shower
*screams into pillow*

Loved having Kenji, Aaron, and Ella’s pov all in this book.

Getting all the background stories finally of Aaron and Ella was so fucking upsetting it made me nauseous. My Goodreads is slowly turning into a Paris Anderson and Evie Sommers hate account. They are MONSTERS. The joy that went through my body when Aaron killed Anderson (well kinda) and when Ella quite literally ripped her mothers heart out- I WAS SO PROUD. Around the middle of this book I was so scared that they were going to wipe Ella’s memories successfully and make her forget Aaron, I was so fucking stressed out.

Now I only have two more novellas and one more novel in this series to go. I might put it off for a while because I don’t want it to end

………….

That’s the silence I just sat in for a half hour after finishing this book. I have no words except what. the. fuck.

This brilliant take on a twisted thriller/mystery romance delivered everything and more than I expected. I read this in literally 48 hours, I could not stop. I don’t even know what to feel right now or what to believe about what REALLY happened on that canoe. All I know is that men written by CoHo have a choke hold on me (no pun intended hehe)

Everything about this book was bone chilling and unsettling. I audibly and physically cringed in disgust/horror on so many fucjing occasions. And I’m all in for books that can provoke such intense feelings out of me as a reader. All the characters in this book were SO complex. There’s no doubt in my mind that Verity was a fucked up person, but I truly have no idea whether or not I believe the manuscript or the letter. There’s so much up in the air and I have a feeling I’ll be up all night contemplating this. As for Jerermy, I loved him from the start. And I know throughout the book especially towards the end there was some red flags but I’m also not mentally well so I like my book boyfriends a lil psycho

“Have we ever had an enemy worse than ourselves?”

First I’ll give me explanations for a 3 star rating;
I enjoyed this entire book, but as is normal for the first book in trilogies, the first book is a lot of world building and character development. So the first half of this book was a tad bit boring but not in a terrible way, but the second half of this book was 4-5 star worthy. So collectively I gave this book 3 stars even though the second half was soooo good it’s just the first 200 pages were lacking.

But I must say i absolutely loved the turn out of this book. The world building and character development that takes up a lot of this book truly does pay off once you get to the end.

The plot twists had my jaw on the FLOOR. Faraday?!? Alive?!?! Rowan killing Goddard???!!! Citra being accused of murder??!?!? Omg I couldn’t believe what I was reading it was so surreal.

I also fucking loved citra and Rowan by the end. I found citra annoying in the first half but she really grew on me and I love when characters prove you wrong. Rowan I loved from the start and idk something about him turning into a skilled conniving sly as fuck vigilante gave me dexter vibes I had no choice but to love him more

I cant wait for the next book:)) this book was a great change of pace from the depressing romance books I’ve been binging

All the Aaron Warner simps got delivered this book on a silver fucking platter. I ATE THIS SHIT UP. I’m so glad Tahereh Mafi decided to extend this trilogy into an entire series because DAMN. FEED ME SOME MORE PLEASE.

I genuinely cannot decide what character I’m obsessed with the most. Aaron … the character development?!?! I fucking adore him. I wanna cradle him in my arms and kiss him on the forehead. UGH. Also let’s not act like I didn’t read that one extremely specific scene in his office with Juliette like four times over…. HES SO HOT . “Lift your hips for me, love.” Bye I think I died and then resurrected back into this world with his name tattooed on my c**chie.

AND KENJI? MY BABY BOY KENJI. I also fucking love him more than I can fathom holy shit my comedic king. I actually laughed out loud on multiple occasions. Something about a sarcastic smart ass really does it for me. Idk. His and Juliette’s friendship is everything. I’ll forever be jealous of them. Extremely disappointing that there’s no hot ex soldiers with a god complex and extreme sarcastic asshole sense of humor who can turn invisible at will and also protect you at all costs out there in the real world:,) Thats fine I’m fine. I hope he gets a love interest in the next books he deserves it more than anyone

Also just so obsessed with Juliette’s character development. She did a complete 180° from where she started in the first book. It was refreshing to see her come out of the original trilogy as a bad ass bitch who lets no one use her and control her anymore. I wanna see her punch through concrete walls and disarm and beat the shit out of men again. It was so satisfying seeing her finally understand her own strength and finally learn to control it and love it, she hated herself for way too long. Cant wait for more content with her and Warner. I NEED MORE. ASAP. catch me at barnes and noble tomorrow getting the next one.

This is also now a Adam Kent hate account. I had hope he would redeem himself after unravel me and I still had some sympathy for him because honestly this man has had his shit handed to him, but he’s fully canceled after his behavior in Ignite me. I cant stand his bland ass. The minute he started screaming at Juliette? cuz he was all pissed that she wasn’t this sad little helpless girl he needed to protect anymore??? GASLIGHTERRRRR. I hope he cries knowing she’s in bed every night with his new brother <3 xoxo

I liked this book (although mainly because of Cal) it was well written but definitely felt like there was something missing. Still really enjoyed it though and I am definitely going to read the companion novel.
