Read this in an evening and couldn't wait to get to the end!!! It was brutal, messed up in so many ways and I loved every page!

This was a fun dark romance read with tonnes of graphic violence and a touch of the supernatural, I really enjoyed it and cannot wait to get started on book 2!!!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 42%.
80 pages in out of 200 and I felt bored, the narrative was a bit bizzare as I struggled to understand who was narrating the story.
Rather than a murder mystery it felt more like a very structured recounting of events with very little suspense of intrigue.
I felt confused with an onslaught of characters and as though the story focused more on educatibf the reader about Japanese culture rather than concentrating on the story

Normally, thrillers to me are like a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, where a picture starts as a jumble and then slowly comes more and more into focus as we are drip fed bits of information.
This book felt like a 10piece jigsaw puzzle that could have been solved in 50pages, not 400.
The Characters were so dull, I cared for none of them!
The plot was boringly predictable with the mystery killer revealed, in my opinion, way too early in the story.
Tension just didn't exist in this book and it felt more like a commentary on modern day police budgeting than a story about catching a menacing murderer.
I finished it hoping it would get better, but now wishing I'd dnf'd way sooner!!

I was disappointed by this book, I picked it up expecting a tense thriller about a mother who would kill to have a Child, instead, I got a slow burn romance with two very tame death scenes....
Every 100 pages, I expected something to happen, some big event, some shocking revelation, just something.
Instead, I got a slow burn romance between a man and woman who both lost a loved one and they're journey from strangers to man and wife 😒
I would not pick this up if you want a tense thriller, pick it up if you want a super slow strangers to lovers vibe.

I cannot fault this book in any way, it is just a masterclass in psychological thrillers!
I was gripped from chapter 1 and then couldn't put it down and devoured it in a single day! There is a reason Delaneys books are an auto buy for me and this was no exception, I loved every page and was gripped on the edge of my seat with the constant twists and turns.
