grimreaderx's Reviews (197)

I was approached by the author to review her work and this review contains nothing but my honest thoughts and opinions.

Fireside Chat is a short story about Seventeen gruesome killings across the United States, within a span of six months and there was one clear connection among victims. They were all book authors. While media was decorating the murders with sensationalist stories, and law enforcement was playing catch-up, the homicidal maniac remained elusive and secretive. Things got very interesting, however, when one day she decided to appear on an internet talk show for an honest fireside chat. Her reason for being on this show was not a quest for fame, but something much more disturbing.

I came into this book not fully reading the blurb because as someone who fondly reads Psychological Thrillers, I want to read said genres of books blindly. So with that being said, I came into this book blindly and it was all worth it.

Also, I'm writing this review terrified because English is not my first language. I never minded my grammar until now, please let me pass this one if ever. (If you read this book, which I'm pretty sure you should, you'd understand where I'm coming from)

The book was gripping and fast paced. I couldn't put it down and just wanted to finish it. It was just a really good read.

However, as someone who reads Psychological Thrillers frequently, I would say the 'reasoning' or the 'motive' of the murders/killings is very important.

I get that it is the plot of the story and it revolves around that. But I can't but laugh when I found out that the reason behind the killings is because of THAT. It is well, stupid per say, but that's the element of Psychological Thrillers, you just never know.

All in all, the book is something I would recommend and definitely enjoy reading. Thank you so much again to the author who kindly approached me and I will be waiting for more of your works in the future
