Came across this one in a store and was immediately drawn in by the cover.
There were definitely strong, positive elements to the story:
-a balanced look at the Han/Leia romance, both the blossoming stages of love but also why the relationship could possibly not withstand the events leading to the sequel trilogy
-the beginning of Leia's relationship with the Force, as well as her coming to grips with her Skywalker (Vader) lineage
-the nitty gritty political scene after the fall of the Empire
-how everyday people and their worlds suffer at the hands of the Empire
All interesting, but for me it just didn't come together. Maybe this could work for someone else, but I found myself skimming the last 30-40 pages (battle-esque scenes) just to get it over with.
