literally? fuck it. idk what the fuck any of that was for. idk why the shadow realm is a goddamn star trek 1970s planet set. but it’s fun and i just like seeing grace and hudson fall in love flaws and all in any universe

i consume and consume and consume your grief until there's no hunger left. because i haven't learned how to sit alone with my own sorrow yet, eyeing it up on a dinner plate i left untouched. it's easier to try yours on for size. like slipping on someone else's shoes to grab the mail. to run down to the store. to escape. for a little while. i have watched your battle, sometimes endless, against the tide of loss and decided to find home in your words. because they fit right. when castiel gripped dean tight and raised him from perdition, he saved you too. and in a way you saved me.

honestly? fuck yeah. i wanted to read these sooo bad back in middle school and i know middle school me would have loved it. there’s a lot of moral stances being made here that as an adult you recognize as flawed or halfhearted. but as a kid even a half finished moral stance of “being pretty and popular isn’t worth it if they change who you are” is important. it’s the most baseline way to explain to kids to value who they are now and build self worth. so really fuck yeah. it was fun. also the secret biblical references made me laugh.

"squid games" this, "the bachelor" that. baby, this was its OWN fucking story and i was HOWLING the whole way through. of course you're gonna recognize similarities to the hunger games, squid games, kiera cass's the selection. there's even elements from the movies the purge: anarchy, ready or not, and you're next. but NONE of those things combined can explain the sheer mania that was this novel. none of these comparisons will prepare you for the nonstop satirical exploration of what would crazy-ass, extremely rich, classist and racist white people do if no one ever told them no. and what would a girl who has fought twice as hard all her fucking life do to survive it. this was everything to me. soooo insanely good.
