Jenn Bennett never disappoints in the ya contemporary department, I've read 4 of her books now and none of them have gotten lower than a 4 star from me. She really is an amazing author, definitely reading her other books<3

Just a few of my many favorite quotes from this book:

“I don’t need snowflakes.” He kissed me. “As long as there’s January.”

“I love you too.”
“And to think,” he said, “you promised you wouldn’t fall in love with me.”

“For January, I don’t care how the story ends as long as I spend it with you.”

“When I watch you sleep," he said shakily, "I feel overwhelmed that you exist.”

ahhhhhhhhhh this book was so freaking cute

There's really no other way to describe it. Like I'm at a loss for words right now. There was no an aspect of this book that I did not enjoy -- the only thing I wasn't really prepared for was how much the book would focus on her dad and her grief. Aside from that, this book had me giggling and smiling like an idiot. The romance, the chemistry, the banter, the competition, it's really hard not to fall in love with this book and its characters, especially Pete and Shadi<33

I had a few favorite quotes from this book but these are the best↓

“How many times have you done this?”
“Zero. But I am familiar with the trope.”
“The . . . what?” He blinked at her, confused.

“There will be only one bed.”
He frowned. “No, as I said it’s a double—”
“It’s not. It won’t be. There will be only one bed, for sure.”
“I got the booking confirmation the other day. I can forward it to you if you want, it says that—”
“It doesn’t matter what it says. It’s always one bed.”

“carry yourself with the confidence of a mediocre white man” (my new motto)

This book was amazing, and such a fun read! It was so adorable and heartwarming, because they bicker about everything, which made for hilarious banter, while he finishes her sentences, which made me absolutely adore their relationship. The inside jokes made my heart just about melt, freeze, then melt again. And I cannot tell you the COUNTLESS number of times I closed my phone, jumped out of bed, paced around my room, and had to take a deep breath before I continued reading. And that only happens when the book is GOOD.

AND I JUST ABOUT DIED WHEN HE SAID HE LOVED HER (reaction for proof https://www.goodreads.com/user_status/show/410177980?type=userstatus#rating_417385366 )

I really thought I would be disappointed and I wouldn't love this book, but I wasn't, and I did!
There's probably a lot more i have to say about this book but it's 4 am so I'll add anything else tomorrow, but GO READ THIS BOOK!!

This book wasn't bad, I definitely think I would have liked it more if it had been more developed and mature, but it seemed more of a middle grade book. It started off a little too fast paced for me, with the main characters deciding to break into a crime scene and 'investigate' 10 pgs into the book. The dialogue and characters were a little bland, and I would've loved to know more about the mc at the beginning or any character in general.

Despite all this, I did love the idea of the book, with aliens, superpowers, and such. I loved the plot and surprises throughout this book, and really enjoyed the fight scenes and how well and descriptive they were written. I would recommend this for middle graders and/or people who love superhero stories :)
