It was a good book. However I found it hard to point out anything unique that stuck with me after reading. It just felt like another Harry Potter/Hunger Games/Percy Jackson plot without any of the memorability.
There wasn't anything wrong with the book, the characters are fairly true to themselves when they think or speak, the background is explained without being an info dump or too vague, and it does a fairly good job of showing the struggle of the MC.
She's trying desperately to fit somewhere that she just doesn't.
Overall this book isn't one I would read again, but I am glad I read it, and I could see why a teenager would feel comforted by the main character's story arc.
