This was a fun read mostly because I live in Dallas. I didn't find any of the characters very likable but I did relate to them all at different points. Definitely some great themes that need to be talked about more, and it's always great to read a book that makes you rethink the current status quo.
That was a wild, beautiful ride. I read Verity before this and expected something similar. When I realized it was more of a love story, I almost quit. I am SO glad I didn't quit. Beautiful story. Some parts of it were predictable but I was also pretty shocked at times. The characters are very well written and developed. Definitely some heavy topics and content, but well worth it.
I loved this book, and couldn't put it down. It wasn't the best writing I've ever read and the story had some holes. But I loved the characters and their relationship. I wasn't sure how it would end until it ended. I would have loved a little bit longer in the last chapter but I appreciate what the author gave us.
The main character, Sofie, was SO frustrating. I found her annoying and infuriating. I expected most of the twists, but they were still exciting. Not my favorite book, but it was a page turner. I always love books set in Texas and I love the Dallas references.
This was a strange book. The first 3/4 I was semi bored but curious to see how it ended. The last 1/4 I was invested and shocked. Lots of twists and turns...some I predicted, and some I didn't. I wouldn't choose to read
it again, but it kept my attention. It was hard keeping up with all of the narrators...I would have liked less of them but I understand why the author did it that way. There were a few storylines that seemed superfluous now that I've finished...I guess the author was trying to keep us in suspense. But some explanation or follow through would have been good.

OMG that was a WILD ride. At first, this book grabbed me but I didn't love it. But by the end, it became a favorite. I've loved all of C.H.'s books, and this is no exception. She's so good at weaving a love story with a mystery. She always makes you question the good guys or bad guys and it gets me every time.
Spoilers Ahead
I kind of expected Sable to be involved, and eventually I thought she was Willow. I did NOT expect the change up. Similar to Behind Her Eyes, the soul switching was such a cool twist.

This was the first book in a while where I truly didn't have any clue how the mystery would be solved. It wasn't "can't put it down" level, but it was interesting and I definitely wanted to see how it ended. I enjoyed the multiple narrators and nods to Dallas/North Texas.
I don't know if I'll ever stop thinking about this book. I knew it wasn't a happy ending, but it just felt so "done." I wanted something else I guess? I'm crushed. I read this book in one night...I truly just couldn't get enough and had to see how it ended. Im pretty wrecked by the ending...I wish the author had wrapped it up a little nicer....even if it wasn't a fairy tale happily ever after.
Of the CH books I've read; this is my least favorite. BUT I still loved it and consider her my favorite author behind TJR. This would have been 4 stars for me, but the message and connection to Hoover's real story pushed it to 5. Beautiful, important, eye opening.
