I started and finished this in one sitting. Very short and kind of interesting but the tropes were just so boring and relied far too heavily on suspension of disbelief. And the mom made me absolutely livid, I’m glad she goes to prison in the end. I think this kind of “no one listens to the 5 kids who all admit to him raping them” thing is over and all in all I thought the book was messy and unrealistic, like after raping your own kid you get THREE years in prison and then can go home immediately to see her?? NOPE. Just made me kind of mad. Writing was fine.

3.5 fast read and interesting. Sad ending and dumb main character, who’s Maggie may?

I feel really weird rating books like this. I’m not necessarily a fan of Connor nor do I have a dislike for him. I was just interested to read a book written in someone else’s perspective and man it was interesting. Some passages were sad, some were happy some good and some bad. I liked it. It wasn’t my favorite but after all I don’t think this book was for me, I think it was for him.

Wow. this was so.... boring? I don’t even know how to explain how I feel about this book. Some parts were fun and entertaining but overall I just really didn’t find the characters, situations or story interesting. The writing was fine and there was nothing that was inherently terrible about this book I just simply didn’t like it. And it took me forever to get through because I just didn’t want to read it. It started off strong but ended with a 1 star.

This book probably deserves a 3.75 but I’m slightly disappointed. I expected more from Richard siken to be honest and it wasn’t bad but just not the standard I hold him to
