Julia Whalen paid attention when reading all those wonderful books she has narrated. This book was beautiful, it had friendship, family, hardship, love and dialog that did not make me embarrassed for the characters. I honestly was a little wary of the “meta-ness” aspect of this book, but honestly Whalen nailed it and it worked perfectly.
