Keep it going.

Malibu Rising is the sixth book by Taylor Jenkins Reid that I have read and this book did not disappoint me either. I'm a big fan of her character-driven stories. And the ability to write beautiful character development. I had this book on my shelf all summer and I finally started reading it in the mid-winter, haha.

The story is about a party in Malibu, thrown by the four children of a world-famous singer. The book reads like a great reality TV series and I love it. The story is structured in two parts of 12 hours. In the first part, there are constant flashbacks to the past. At some point, these two timelines converge and the flashbacks stop. Also, each chapter is 1 hour and the whole book takes place over 1 day. I liked this structure, especially because there are several parallels between the main character Nina and her parents. This book shows that you are not bound to the same fate as that of your parents and that sometimes you have to take the step to choose yourself.

All in all, one of my favourite TJR books. At last, I live for her crossovers between books.

This book!! This fucking book! I love it. V.E. Schwab told this is the story she wanted to write for herself and it became one of my all time favourites.

Marchella, June, Victor and Mitch....  it was so well written and original, I can't do anything else than give it 5 stars.

And this quote >> "A memory flashed through his mind - kneeling on the floor, slicing open his wrists over and over and over to see how many times it would take before God let him die."

Damn this book has my soul.
