An all time favourite as a child and as an adult. Utter madness with a comforting sense of familiarity I will always go back to time and time again.
This book will always be very near and dear to me, I have loved it from the age of four, it was my first 'big book' that I read on my own, and when I was asked in high school to choose a classic to review this was my pick. I've written about this book enough (as have so many others), that I don't really feel the need to go into great detail here, but I truly believe this this is far more than a children's book.
My children will grow up knowing Alice as I did, and my students will hate me as an english teacher for always dredging this thing up.

I'm seeing a lot of people complaining because of the open ending, but honestly... grow up!?
It's a short story, 67 pages, and you're asking for an ending that ties up every loose end and packages it neatly for you?
I enjoyed this for what it is, and because I am a grown up (excuse the pun) I am able to decide on the ending I think suits the characters best.
I adore Gillian Flynn's writing style, and this was the perfect story to nurse me through my sunday morning hangover.
