The writing in this book was incredible! Lush and descriptive combined with gritty and harsh adds such a beautiful contrast.
The plot and the world setting were fantastic! Our main character is a badass assassin but unfortunately has the traits of âeveryone who comes close to me diesâ and doesnât trust a single soul. She grows a little in the book, but hopefully book two will have more significant character growth.
I read this as an audiobook so I missed a couple things from the story but it was so good Iâm definitely going to physically read this at some point!
This short story was incredible đĽšâ¤ď¸ so happy I saved this one for last! This one flows so well and feels so good and wholesome!
Ali Hazelwood is a genius writer, a snowstorm trapping two long family friends whoâve been in love with each other for forever?? Yes PLEASE. Give us more, Ali.
We follow a couple whoâd met at Thanksgiving for a one night stand⌠who end up on a ride share stranded together. Talk about awkward⌠until they realise they both want more.
The town they end up stranded in is called Tinsel and it is cheesy and cute! Lots of festive bits included, had me giggling a little đ
I related literally everything I could to it, turning my personal reality into its universe. The heat wave Joburg experienced? We had dragons breathing down our necks, or they were trying to break us in land nav đ
The lightning storms we had were perfect timing for this series đ especially for the last battle - reading it during a storm was everything âĄď¸
This book goes into politics, truths, and rebellions a bit more. Still made me cry. Violet is even more badass. I really loved that she didnât become someone who couldnât handle her trauma.
Read if you love: -dragons -shadow daddyâs -magic -banter with friends -dropping all your money on merch
This was such a cosy read đĽšâ¤ď¸ I gave it 5 stars, maybe because I could relate to the nerdiness of the characters? But their crush for each other felt a lot more natural and wholesome.
Also a love interest who loves to clean? Now books are talking đđ
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated
4.0
This was actually a cute one! While more pacing would have been nicer, I understand itâs a short story so it almost feels a bit like insta-love but this was super cute!
The first chapters start out with a 911 call with Christmas elements and I thought that was so cute! Thereâs other Christmas touches, plus firemen, plus small town!!
Just what I was looking for in this collection â¨
If the meaty van is a-rocking donât come a-knocking đ¤Ł
This was wild - I loved the forced proximity and âonly one van and itâs cold and we have to preserve body heatâ but what a strange Christmas story.
Insta-lust with a gigantic man where this was basically smut with slight Christmas mentions.
âThey donât make pants that fit me. They donât make woman that fit me eitherâ
Too-big and degradation can be written so much better.
But fun hints towards Gilmore Girls: - romantic interest is named Luke - main character is a single mom who is running a thrift shop - MC moved to a small town after stopping at a DINER and saw an ant hill on/near a HARDWARE store. Basically same sentence mention
Freida McFadden does it again! I listened to this audiobook while working out and let me tell you sometimes I didnât even notice that I was working out (life hack) đ
The audiobook for this was crisp, delicious! Itâs a dual POV where everything links up in the end and the plot twist!!! Freida is the queen of them. I was guessing so many things throughout this book đ but youâre just never sure until it happens and you sometimes have to just pretend thereâs a hidden camera for you to gasp at
So, so, so good!
Also a little tip - Audible has 3 months for $0.99 a month until 31 Dec so go sign up and then listen to this đâ¨
