Katharine Hepburn as Eleanor is such a perfect casting choice here.

A very difficult, heat breaking read. Wonderfully written and I could spend years taking it apart. A brilliantly intricate look into pedophilia and abuse. I'm very glad to have read it

THE BLUEPRINT. it will never get this good again. When you are your own mother. The family sickness. I mean, what more can I say. I can't breathe. Literally the blueprint.

Forgot to review this last year so I'm going to do it now. I love you Wyndham Brandon!! Delightful read for fans of the Hitchcock movie and adds some brilliant segments that were missed for time on screen. There's no John Dall or Farley Granger, but there's a certain added richness and character dynamic that I fell completely in love with here between the entire cast. This play made me fall in love with the movie all over again. Such brilliant texts. For his opinions on Compulsion, i just know Nathan Leopold would have hated everything about this. At least it's better than Thrill Me.

Not even my love for the movies could get me through this one. Sorry Herbert. There are passages I like, but overall it was a tough one to get through. I plan to revisit it in audiobook though.

On one hand it gave us Canadian Herbert West, Dan Cain being a bit of a freak, and some really nice personality dialogue for Meg early on. On the other hand, the POV was all over the place (I'd really like to know who's perspective I'm reading at each point), when the book changed movie dialogue it was generally made clunkier and more unnaturally written, and the entire thing lacks emotion -- you don't get to see into the minds of the characters as much as you should.

My hottake is that none of this is a joke and Ovid is just like that actually.
