I understand the purpose of SOME of the graphic content, but was very surprised to find it so bluntly in a YA book without any warnings from the publisher. The flow of prose was really good, and for that, and only that, it got two stars. The story itself is unnecessarily graphic (definite trigger warnings for sexual, emotional, and physical abuse) and I knew the end "twist" a handful of pages in. Disappointing overall.

Real and beautifully told. I loved it.
I especially liked the diverse cast and the way the author treated each character with respect. I was invested in them. There were a few points in Erin's story in particular that I literally nodded along and thought, "Yeah, she definitely gets this. This is what it's like." It's a strongly feminist read and I like that it was unapologetic in this fact. Definitely recommend.
Trigger warnings for: rape, sexual harassment/violence, misogyny, frank sex talk, self harm.

Greatly emotional piece. I think she displayed depression well through a very flawed main character. Kept me wanting to pick it back up and read more every time I had to set it down.

Triggers: depression, suicide, abortion, underage drinking/drugs, bullying
