While I enjoyed getting to learn more about Pakistan, the shifting point of view even within paragraphs was disorienting and I didn’t really understand why the leads fell in love.

Interesting material but the way it is presented often seems like it doesn’t know whether the science supports or disagrees with feminist ideas which makes it frustrating and confusing.

I didn’t love how the conflict between the two leads resolved. It didn’t feel much like a compromise. One lead refused to give up anything so the other had to give up everything but I miraculously worked out for her.

Some aspects could have been made clearer and the book is very cis-normative (admittedly so in the intro) but contains a lot of good info that is useful even outside of sexuality contexts.

The repetition of “but she didn’t say that” after dialogue became annoying after the 20th time. This book is built on miscommunication so if that bothers you skip it. The main characters have little chemistry and spend most of their time fighting but not in a way that seems resolvable. It is resolved but given they are fighting about their outlooks on life it doesn’t seem like it should nearly as easy as it is. This book also veers into some really heavy topics somewhat suddenly.
