I could see this book going way more in depth on the characters stories. We get pieces here and there, and I would have loved more. I think it could have benefited from more of a slow burn with just a touch of tension. Quick satisfying read in the end!

Why am I going to finish this series? Because I'm confused as hell and won't be satisfied unless I know the end. Melissa you sneaky little witch

Infinity stars. Tessa Bailey has done it again a perfect love story between grumpy and sunshine with just the right amount of annoying moments. AND THE TENSION holy smokes but Tessa, girl we gotta chat about that shower scene... 🫣

As the 5th book of the series I was expecting so much more, especially after how the last one ended. Instead we got a plot driver and build up to the 6th and last installment. Which is fine, but damn the 6th book better be amazing to have gotten through Gold.

This was a reread for this year and as always it was perfect. I definitely picked up on more little connections through the SJM verse which just proves that rereading is good for the soul.

The last 100 pages made this book worth it. I feel like that's the usual for the beginning of fantasy and maybe if I had read Caraval first it would be different. Truly a slow burn, I want more Jacks.

I thought this book was a little slower compared to the first two, and not as developed. It was still amazing and perfect SJM style, but I would have liked more especially if this wasn't the conclusion. I feel like it could have been, maybe should have been. The ending left off very nicely.
