Should be required reading for everyone living in the US. Mythbusting and informative.

While I haven't read the book in its entirety, Life Is a Verb sparked me to make positive, self-nurturing changes in my life. This book helped me learn and believe and practice the art of taking care of myself, of prioritizing my needs for creativity and introspection. Life Is a Verb also helped me stretch "who I am outside" to include more of "who I am inside." All this is making me a better--and happier--person, wife, friend and mom.
The Not So Big Life: Making Room for What Really Matters by Sarah Susanka

This book is one of my favorite change-your-perspective books. Without sounding new-agey, Susanka discusses topics like meditation, manifestation and detachment. I could really relate to her real-life examples and her architectural descriptions. Reading this book and doing the exercises helped me think differently about how I spend my time and energy as I go through my days. (I do agree with another reviewer who mentions a lack of discussion following exercises. Susanka's book starts out with a suggestion to keep a notebook with a bunch of categories, but the notebook is seldom mentioned later. That said, however, I did use my notebook and, after 2 or 3 years, still refer to it on occasion. I have found the notebook to be valuable on my own terms.)
