This book started off so strong. The world building is beautiful and you are brought into this magical world. The concept of this book has been done many times in other books but I felt at the start of the book that this book was going to be different but sadly the story fell flat. I believe that the author was trying to do too much with different POVs and instead of getting a great story everything was rushed. There were big climatic moments that didn't feel like they were big moments to the story because the build up wasn't there. It felt like the big moments were just dropped into the story.

Sadly I will not be reading book two.

While this has good underlying content I don’t think this communicates the points well.

My first issues with the book is it’s incredibly repetitive. The book can be much shorter and get the same message across.

I don’t personally believe that many of these ‘tools’ can actually be used in the reel world. You can’t just ask a co-worker ‘Are you implying that I have sex with you to get a promotion?’ You will be called to HR and possibly fired.

I wouldn’t recommend this for most people because you have to sift through a lot of bad advice to get to the ‘gems’ in the book.

There is literally no chemistry between the FMC, Kira, and the MMC, Bennett. This could have been a cute story but the two main characters relationship felt forced. The ‘conflict’ at the end didn’t feel like a conflict just more of an annoyance we had to get through. I’m very disappointed in this book because I enjoyed the first two. Sadly I don’t recommend.

I really wanted to love this book. I love urban fantasy and was excited when I came across this indie book. Sadly this just didn’t do it for me. It’s too YA for me, which I won’t doc it for. The story is very choppy. Somehow the story was slow and fast at the same thing. It felt like nothing happened because it was training and the FMC, Savannah, passing out and then a major scene would break seemingly out of nowhere. I liked the writing style but the story didn’t flow well at all.

If you want smut for the sake of smut this may be for you. If you need a plot of any kind this isn’t going to work for you. This is wildly unrealistic even for the book world and it kept me from being able to dive into the story.
