This book wasn't bad by any means but I did enjoy Island of Sea Women more. This story is an important one and Lisa See continues to showcase the many stories of Asian women in an interesting way while also doing her research.
I will definitely continue to follow any new books she puts out while catching up on the backlog of women led stories.

This book was devastating and heart breaking and so much more. Some of the scenes in this book tore at me with the realization that some of these actions and scenes that occurred could likely happen.
"Not all skinfolk is kinfolk" is a devastating truth that becomes all the more relevant as we move into the political landscape we are heading towards.
