Such a nice starter for an adventure-packed series.

If you're thinking about starting this series or not, then what are you waiting for? You pick up this book and it's full of movement from the very first page. You need a little bit of time to get used to all of these new expressions, but eventually you'll get the hang of it. I enjoyed the fact that the book is narrated from Rose' point of view, her character is amazing. The friendship between her and Lissa is truly mesmerizing and I cannot wait for reading more about them. The plot twists were fine, not really surprising but kept me reading the book.

It's a nice book, will definitely continue the series.

I liked the plot, it was fast-paced and entertaining. However there are some things that angered me, like:
-how Lissa is so passive when it comes to her BEST FRIEND. She just came home after seeing a whole family massacred and all she can ask Rose is: "Are you okay?" No, b.tch she's not freaking ok but she'll fake smile for you so you can be alone with your little boyfriend. Number 1 rule: Hoes before boys.
- Rose is practically always alone with her problems, the only time when Lissa takes her somewhere instead of Christian is when Christian wouldn't go with her.
- Rose's mother is not a mother. Of course, she has her own problems and her own reasons for leaving Rose alone, but honestly? She is her daughter, she shouldn't come back after not seeing her for 5 years and pretending to be the most responsible mother, especially after punching her so hard. I don't think I will ever like her.

And I could go on with the problems that I had, but I enjoyed the book as a whole. So I'll just cotinue the series and hope for the best.

That ending destroyed me.

Thanks to this book, I can finally give this series a 5 star rating. It saved the whole story in my opinion. It was everything I would have liked the other books to be. Rose developed beautifully and her relationship with Dimitri was as charming as ever. Her friendship with Lissa is still something I don't like, but the book could not be perfect. The plot was intriguing and really kept me on the edge of my seat, the plot twists were nice and kind of(?) unpredictable.

All in all Spirit bound was an amazing ending to a nice series.

When you love books, you actually love what they give to you, the way they reach out to you and make you feel. Sometimes a book has a nice plot that makes you realize you’re not alone with your problems, or you get to know a character and you instantly fall in love. But very rarely does a book touch you entirely with its uniqueness, extraordinary worldbuilding, characters that seem so real, they could easily be you or me. Honestly this only happened in my reading life with three authors: Rick Riordan, Cassandra Clare and Colleen Hoover. I was definitely not expecting this book to be this important to me, the characters to grow on me like they did.

Of course, this book is not perfect and it couldn’t even be. There were similarities with other stories, but these were very small ones and after a while I even forgot about them. Some parts were so cruel, they resembled our world today, how we close our eyes upon things we don’t want to see instead of doing something for the change. Leaders are lying to us, and we believe them because it’s what is comfortable and safe. And Aveyard captured it all so perfectly.

Shock. Betrayal. Broken families. Death. Loss. Revenge. A little bit of true love(not at all insta-love). This book has it all. And it has my vote too, because it was amazing.

What a horrible mess. This book stands for every disgusting thing that I hate, starting with lying(to yourself and to everyone around) to not communicating with the one you love, then breaking your oath of being with that person through thick and thin. Depression is not an excuse for cheating, miscarriage is not an excuse for cheating and the fact that Cathy stated that Arsen had helped her "heal" was a big fat lie I didn't eat. I thought I would love this book, because it touches very important issues, and it's supposedly about adult people, but I honestly felt like reading about a 14 year old girl's teenage drama.
