It was a struggle to get into, but once I found the groove it was a good story.

I didn't expect a HEA, but the ending was satisfying in it's own way. YMMV, of course.

The writing style isn't for everyone, the gore is very graphic, and the casual bigotry could be a lot for those unused to such vulgarity. Mind your squicks.

When I start reading this I was apprehensive. One of the MCs has a tendency to repeat, often, their mantra of a plan. Repetitive speech tends to drive me bonkers, but I persevered and I'm so glad I did.

What a charming tale of two very awkward guys in quite a unique situation.

Vincent is a down-on-his luck vampire and Wesley is a man on a mission. When their worlds collide, it sets them on a course neither ever expected but both sorely need.

The villains in this world are both heinous in their actions and all too common in their bigotry. You'll love to hate them.

The story is set in a contemporary world, but the subtle additions of preternatural elements gives it a wonderfully unique vibe.

I look forward the rest of the series. ✌🏻

A heartwarming action/adventure about finding yourself, falling in love, and trying not to burn the world down.

There's pirates, assassins, mentions of a sea witch, nefarious schemes…oh just go read it already.

It's good fun. ✌🏻

A heartbreaking and emotional novel about grief,  trauma, abuse, perseverance, found family, and love.

Beckett and Riley have lived a world of pain and suffering, with no one but each other to rely on.

Thankfully, their strength and love helps them see it through to a hopeful future.

This was a very difficult read. The author pulls no punches with the MCs trauma, both past and present, so do mind your squicks.

A wonderful and beautiful story. Definitely looking for more from this author.

Paid to Kneel: All New Second Edition by Romilly King

This version of "Paid to Kneel" is a reworked text, which continues to follow the exact outline of "If you hurt me, that's okay, baby" by blue_jack on Archive of Our Own.

https://t.co/f8jyC5YwQW

Romilly steals other author's stories from free fanfiction sites, tweaks them slightly, then sells them to an unwary public.

This book is just ONE example of their thievery. Amazon has pulled it once for this already in the past, hence the "All new second edition."

More info can be found with a simple search for this "author's" name on Twitter. User KokomRoily has a lovely comparison thread with breakdowns here:

Shameful.

Write your own stories, Romilly. Stop being a thief.

Did not finish book.
The typos were atrocious, the characters flat, and the plot was weak.

A sweet with heat story of two men finding their forever family together.

Tank and CJ are such wonderful characters that you can't help but feel for them, both their joys and sorrows.

As a Michigander myself, I have a special place in my heart for stories set here, even in fictional towns. This series looks to be no exception.

I'm looking forward to Six finding his boy in the next book too. 🥰
