Interesting mystery novel. The author does a good job of writing across multiple perspectives.
I really liked the writing style and vibe of the story. I read it very quickly and enjoyed it.
I like the I-novel style writing a lot, and I enjoyed the style from a new author. As the story progressed, I was sure the plot wouldn't resolve cleanly, but I was mistaken. The ending was heartfelt and sweet.
The story encourages the reader to understand the characters through Izzie's perspective, ultimately giving form to Izzie himself. By the end, the reader is encouraged to see Izzie through his family's perspective, rather than through Izzie's perception of his family's perspective. Ultimately, I think this book illustrates how fragile our perception of others and ourselves is.

I like the writing style, but the story is bland and disjointed. The protagonist doesn't feel like a real person, more like an archetype, so it was hard to remain immersed, particularly in the latter half of the book.
A wonderfully written story about a chemist who faces sex discrimination at nearly every point in her life. My MIL lent me this book, and I'm glad she did. Although this story is a work of fiction, it is because of people like Elizabeth that AFAB people in STEM have the opportunities that they do. I will definitely re-read this book!
