This is an average memoir. I feel it lacks in personal reflection and insight, but it was a fairly interesting read.

Michael's character is criminally ignored. There is so much to him that is heavily implied but never explored, meaning that, this story feels incomplete. I enjoyed the story and feel that the overall dynamic lends to an interesting read. But, there's something missing.

This plot was so on the nose I felt like I was reading a political advertisement.

I read this book in just over 24 hours; I could not stop. The prose is beautiful, and what's not said speaks louder than what is written.

The Frederick Sisters Are Living the Dream

Too slow and uninteresting. Also, the way the characters refer to and discuss their disabled sister kind of bothers me. I get that the writer is illustrating their lack of education on the matter, but it comes across as sort of callous.

I don't mind a well-written, dislikable protagonist, but this one is insufferable: she's whiny, immature, and entitled. My eyes rolled out of my head trying to read this book.
