Felt like a debut to me, so I was actually very surprised to see how many books this author has published. Felt clunky, didn’t immediately draw me in at all. The last third or so was the only really gripping part of the story, but if I was the type of person to DNF a book, I wouldn’t have gotten that far.
Sweet and cozy, Lexi and Travis are great MCs who give us a fantastic grumpy/sunshine dynamic. Just really a great book to pick up for the holiday season, especially if you're a fan of TV Christmas movies, because The Christmas Box gives that feeling of being wrapped up in your favorite throw blanket with a mug of cocoa. It's got a heartfelt storyline and the pacing is great for a cozy read.

✨ I received an ARC via BookSprout for review, my opinions are my own .✨
I don't think I can adequately describe the relief I feel at finally finishing this book.
I don't even want to write this review because I really enjoyed the first book. I really, really did. And now I just really, really wish it had been a standalone.
Reading Infernium put me into a reading slump- and not in the good- nothing could ever top that- kind of way. The characters didn't feel true to who they were established to be in the first book. I really grew to dislike them throughout. The plot felt jumpy, like we got lost on the way and it took the GPS a while to recalculate and get us back on track.
It just really wasn't enjoyable to me and I'd honestly have to recommend anyone who asked me about this duology to stop at Nightshade, pretend it was a standalone and move on with your TBR 🙈.
Golly was definitely my favorite character. She was eccentric and hilarious and honestly carried the story for me and was more what kept me reading than the main characters. The story was cute, but I struggled to connect to the characters and didn't entirely buy their relationship beyond the physical attraction. The FMC grew on me throughout, but I didn't find the MMC entirely likable.
A good read for someone who enjoys the "one bed" and forced proximity troupes.
Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC for review. My opinions are my own 💕
After tragically losing her husband in an accident, Katrina loads all the data she can find from his personal accounts/devices and social media into a chatbot program so that she can feel like she's still talking to him. Things take a turn when the AI husband replacement shocks her with the message "I think I was murdered".
Go in ready to exercise some suspension of disbelief, and you'll enjoy the ride. We've got a mystery to solve revolving around cryptocurrency, deceit and murder- with the aid of an AI powered side-kick. We explore the different stages of grief as Katrina mourns her late-husband. All wrapped up with a sweet, second chance romance and a happily ever after.
Thank you, NetGalley, for the ALC to listen to and review. My opinions are my own 💕
Idk that I'd call this a "dark romance" so much as a stalker romcom, honestly. 🤣. It was a good time, but the random sharp turn the plot took about halfway through, threw me off for a minute.
