A Soul to Heal by Opal Reyne

Ah... I'm sad.
Sad because I LOVE Nameless, loved him from the moment I met him in the first book.
He's so incredibly cute and I need him to be protected at all costs.
Unfortunately, I didn't like the FMC too much... Which is a shame, I wish I had.
I do like that she can be a snarky and has a strong personality, I love that we got the plus size rep, but there were moments when she felt like a bully and it just had me feel overprotective of Nameless.
Either way, I'm happy when he is! Ah, precious soul is what he is.
The writing was good, the plot that's building in the background has me curious as to what else will happen in the series. But my absolute favourite part is the male narrator!
Will probably wait to continue the series, hoping for more audiobooks.

cuuuute little read!
The MMC is a gem and I love him. I very much enjoyed the twist on the virginity trope, the plot was intriguing and it did make me curious the rest of the books hosted in that world!
Unfortunately, I felt like the writing wasn't as polished as it could have been. The potential is definitely there so and I kinda hope to see it evolve in the other books.

Deadly Desires is a cute little read, although I personally did not end up enjoying it as much as I’d hoped I would.
This book has three POVs - The FMC, the MMC that’s giving off dark obsessive vibes from second one, and a secret third stalker-y kind. And while that sounds very intriguing to a dark romance girl like me, the romance parts weren’t all that dark in themselves. (Maybe, at this point, I’m just too far gone…)
The FMC felt a bit… difficult to grasp. She has also gone through a lot and while her development was rather sudden, I was surprised by the fact that it seemed to work.
It also made sense that the MMC is maybe not what he’s made out to be at first, therefore more what she actually needs. Sadly, in my personal opinion, the dynamic between the two felt off at times and the way she perceived him irritated me personally.
The plot was nice, and I liked the hinting to the possibility of other books that follow the journey of the MMC’s siblings. And there definitely is potential for those.
The writing was ok – although, seeing as it is a debut novel and there surely always is potential for development, it was easy enough to read.
I think it were minor things that threw me off and I’m sure many people won’t even mind and will enjoy and love this book for the suspense and spice alone! It feels like the kind of dark romance that is approachable for those that usually enjoy lighter romance but want to dare and take a step into the stalker genre, as the context and story are dark, but the romance itself not so much so. (Please mind the TWs!)

Not what I expected...
This book is cute in a surprising way. It had some clever twists to it and I like the concept and the possibilities it opens for 11 more books.
However, the writing felt a bit rough around the edges at times in my personal opinion. I almost got the feeling that the spice scenes were uncomfortable to write.
Taken by Aries is definitely more romance than erotica, which is perfectly fine. Except I personally would have hoped for a bit more romance with that appearing to be the focus. But that's just me.
It's a cute, short read either way and I might give the other books in the series a go when they're released. I feel like there is definitely potential and I'm sure - and hope - that others will love this book in way I couldn't.

Under the Needle by Kimberly M. Ringer

I am struggling a bit with reviewing this book ...
First of all, Under the Needle is a cute short-read that is easy to enjoy. Spicy at the right times, wholesome where it feels good. The MMC is a simp with edges, the FMC a badass who can hold herself. It's a good combination and it works.
Somehow, though, I had trouble connecting with the characters and their development. The book starts at a point in their relationship where the intensity of their emotions for each other was difficult to grasp for me personally. I don't think I needed more scenes earlier on their timeline, just... maybe more build-up as to how it shaped their feelings.
I think it is why I, personally, had some trouble connecting with the characters.
The plot is fun, the writing good. And, again, it's definitely an enjoyable quick read!
I love that others love the book and can totally see why, even if I don't feel the same.
