For those who find regular flashbacks confusing, this book is not for you, especially in audio where you get interrupted if you aren't focusing on the book completely. However, the voice for the audio book is completely fantastic!

I loved the world building, how the demons, witches, and blessed abilities were absolutely fascinating!

I do feel like I need to read this one again to give it a true rating because I did get confused on if Kai was murdered in the beginning, and how his heart pearl came to be along with the politics.

Because I have a very interrupted home life raising a 3 yo, I'll be adding this on my repeat list when she's older and I bet it'll be less confusing in the politics then.

I do recommend this for people who love the idea of a semi water faring demon who gets persuaded to join the toppling of a corrupt hierarchy! Anyone who's dealt with persecution of any kind will find kinship with Kai and his friends.

This book feels very incomplete. I think I would have rather it have been combined with the next book.

The only real character development was with Thadred, he was very obnoxious to me in the first title but this title gives him some purpose! His ending with this title is entertaining and I'm happy to read the next book to see what becomes of him.

I did feel very disappointed with how Dain & Amira are trudging along together. It doesn't feel like there's much bonding or friendship, mostly angst from Amira, which feels out of place because of everything she's willfully done for him. I know it is supposed to read as sexual tension but it doesn't come off that way to me at all.

3/5 stars because outside of Thadred, it feels like dim trudge just like their entire journey in bad weather.

This is a delightful reimagined fairytale through a sci-fi lens.

Bandit and his wheelchair bound partner Ratchet (They/Them) take on a heist to give themselves the funds to take on the life they want to live, but the looming tower between them and their bounty is anything but an easy obstacle.

This is a very short story, but enjoyable every step of the way.

The first half of the book was... Mind numbing. My least favorite book. Once again, stubbornness to the point of self destruction runs heavy in this title.

Part 1 chapter 18 start of 19 event should have happened on the bridge on solstice in A Court Of Frost and Starlight.

I understand that we have to weather Nesta's coldness but was it really necessary to paint the picture for ANOTHER 17 CHAPTERS?

My other issue with this book is that all of the sudden, everyone's character building went out the window, they felt alien and just wrong. I understand that this may be how Nesta sees them but we literally bridged the gap with Nesta and Feyre during the previous books, and Elain and Nesta were always close. It isn't like Rhys to be this... Shitty... He's always been well composed even when stressed.

I will say the second half of the book as Nesta bonds with her new chosen friends and begins opening up with them, and them with her, that's when things get good. There is good character growth with Nesta in this portion. This book is worth the read if only for that even if this is my least favorite in the series and that includes the first book.
