I enjoyed this book a lot. I loved the slice of life aspects and I enjoyed the fact that it was told in first person. The author did a great job showing things from Miss Julia's perspective while as the reader, I see what's really going on.

As interesting as the case was, I had trouble keeping track of people, which is not normally a problem for me. I think it was a combo of post partum exhaustion and the way the book was written.

I also wasn't the biggest fan of all the minute details about the various crime scenes. I understand what the author was trying to show but it was just a lot.

I didn't give it five stars because this is just the beginning of the story, but I found out why it has been mentioned so many times in one of my Facebook groups. It is delightful and I look forward to reading more!

My main issue with this book is that you can definitely tell it is part of a series. There are a lot of characters mentioned and it was kind of over explained who they were because their stories appeared in previous books, but I honestly didn't care and found the over explanations confusing and tedious.

I liked the story itself, I just felt like the multiple over explanations took away from it.
