This was actually so fun! I love Story Lake already.

Hazel is a romance writer who went through a bad divorce and lost her mojo. Cam is a small town grumpy contractor. Hazel impulse buys a huge old house and her and bestie Zoey head to Story Lake. There they have run ins with bald eagles, small town mean girls, and sexy brothers who just so happen to be working on the house.

This book is actually laugh out loud funny in some places and I love the absolute shenanigans. I was rooting for Hazel and Cam from the beginning and I loved them together.

The cast of characters is perfection and I honestly cannot even wait to read the next one!

This was a great last installment. I love the idea that whoever you kissed at the bonfire is it your one.

Dillon and Serena kissed years ago at this bonfire but then she went through hell and he played football. Now they have run into each other again and he instantly wants her but she’s been through it and been hurt. But she starts covering his games and they start getting closer.

I really enjoyed this once I got into it. I liked Dillon and Serena and I was actually rooting for some side characters to get together.

I really enjoy a bit of a detective story in my romance so this was right up my ally!

Allie and Ben live different lives. He works for Scotland Yard and she runs her families antique shop while they go off on adventures and treasure hunts. Then one day she overhears a plot to steal the Crown Jewels. She goes to report it and they finally meet. And the attraction is there!

The two of them are trying to figure out this mystery while also deciding they want to be together. But that could put her in danger.

I really liked both characters so much. They were both so driven and you could feel their chemistry. The detective bit was great as well, there was so much going on and it moved so fast!

I truly knew this book would mess me up. I was not wrong.

I’ve always liked Haymitch, so getting his story was great but also…devastating. All the connections. The people we get to meet in completely different situations that change everything. The situations that led to where everyone is. The events leading up to the second quarter quell.

I felt like this added so much to what we already knew but also confused things more in some ways. I still have so many questions.

Obsessed.

Eva and Donovan were so fun. The chaos was perfect. I love how the entire town absolutely lost it but he just knew it was the time for them. This was so fun and lighthearted.

I have been in such a reading slump and when I tell you I just flew through this because it was soooo good!

Somehow, I just knew I was going to love Arden’s story and I was not even a little bit wrong. Arden is an artist who is slightly reclusive. Linc is her brother’s best friend staying at his house. They meet when she pulls a knife on him. Then they are thrown together when danger finds her again.

The way they both faced so many demons from their pasts. The way they supported each other and he fit seamlessly into the Colson family. This was truly a perfect story and I loved it.

The suspense is there. So much wondering and trying to figure it all out. The false leads and dramatic moments. I was truly on the edge of my seat.

And y’all. So many animals. Sweet Brutus and the horses.
