I read this on audio. I appreciated the author's focus on neurodivergence and her approach to chores as a self-care task. Some of the resources she compiled, such as the compassionate outsider approach to self-compassion, the research on shame, and the idea of rhythm over schedules struck a chord with me.

There were a couple plot points that felt out-of-character, and the new characters we met in this book weren't as well-developed as the first in the series. Still, I devoured this book in under a day, and I enjoyed the read!

Make sure you have the sequel lined up to read as soon as you finish this one! I consumed this book in a day and it's killing me that I have to wait a couple weeks for the sequel to arrive through my library. Note that this is more on the slow burn, closed door side of romance. The fantasy plot has also drawn my interest and will likely be a larger focus during the second book.
